Is it ironic that in a week where
Abram and I have been racing to the bottom of the slippery slope (
here,
here,
here, and
here) I stumble across the following?
Lurch of the Dead: Zombies march through the heart of Madison
As reported here last Monday, downtown Madison played host to a zombie uprising Saturday. Whether you want to call it a march, lurch, protest, parade, flash mob or what you will, some 200 of the living dead staggered along the entire length of State Street.
While I am not a fan of the zombie film, or horror in general, this warmed the cockles of my heart. I thought the best part was:
Even some non-zombies participated, largely protesting the protest. With a zombie phenomenon literally sweeping the continent (lurches emerging in Toronto, Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland and elsewhere this month), a pair of anti-zombie partisans in AZAP (Advocates of Zombie Attack Preparedness) attempted to counter their spread. They distributed the following list:
- Organize before they rise!
- They feel no fear, why should you?
- Use your head, cut off theirs.
- Blades don't need reloading.
- Ideal protection = tight clothes, short hair.
- Get up the staircase, then destroy it.
- Get out of the car, get onto the bike.
- Keep moving, keep low, keep quiet, keep alert!
- No place is safe, ony safer.
- The zombie may be gone, but the threat lives on.
Sadly the AZAP does not have a website, however
Mr. TunaCan pointed me to
The Federal Vampire & Zombie Agency website, which contains some very important information.
